Poetry on Spirituality

My spirituality
Accepts one God
And many gods as well.
My spirituality
Equally believes in
A very special future God:
Man.

~

My spirituality
Is
My sleepless self-transcendence.

~

My spirituality
Is
My heart’s divinity-universality.

~

My spirituality
Is
My world-acceptance-beauty.

~

My spirituality
Is
My constant yearning
For something beyond.

~

My body dies,
But not my spirituality,
Never!

~

My spirituality at once
Loves to become
An evil-fighter
And
A goodness-lover.

Other selected Poems by Sri Chinmoy expressing different aspects of a spiritual seekers experiences:

Sri Chinmoy teaches that spirituality is no one’s monopoly. There are many different spiritual paths which can lead seekers to the same goal. Real Spirituality involves accepting the different religions and paths.

Sri Chinmoy says:

Spirituality is not merely tolerance. It is not even acceptance. It is the feeling of universal oneness. In our spiritual life, we look upon the Divine, not only in terms of our own God, but in terms of everybody’s God. Our spiritual life firmly and securely establishes the basis of unity in diversity.

From: What is Spirituality at Sri Chinmoy Library

Spirituality may mean different things to different people but it need not be a complicated subject. Seekers who use the heart to feel oneness with others and oneness with God will be able to be conscious of the fruits of spirituality.

Real Spirituality can easily be described in one word: delight.”
